Dear Potential Contestant;

How would you like the chance to earn scholarship dollars, showcase your talent, learn interview skills, serve your community, have fun and make new friends!! This years Miss Whatcom County, Chandler Batiste, has earned $4300 by participating in our program, competed for Miss Washington, where she was named 1st runner up; and competed in the National Sweetheart Pageant.  Chandler is active in her platform, makes numerous appearances, and has travelled throughout the state of Washington.

The Miss America program is the largest provider of scholarships for young women, with over $45 million dollars given away annually. In 2010, we awarded $6400in scholarships to our contestants; each contestant received a minimum of $200 just for participating!

Miss Whatcom County 2010, Vonda Di Lorenzo, who was voted Miss Congeniality at Miss Washington 2010, has earned a total of $3050 in scholarships!  She has made numerous appearances throughout Whatcom County and the State of Washington, promoted her platform of Volunteering in your community; started the "Taste of Talent" fundraiser for Children's Miracle Network, made many new friend and continues to have great experiences.  How can you become involved?

How can you become involved? Please fill out the application, call or email the local director, and schedule an audition for Sunday, Nov 7th  between 12  and 5 pm. Other times available by appointment. Please bring the application to the audition; and also a CD (or tape) that you can do a talent presentation to.  It does not have to be what you would do for the pageant, we have a talent director to work with you.  Come dressed as for a job interview (that is what this is) do not bring family or friends. Be prepared to talk about yourself, your goals, a community service project that you would like to do or are already involved in.  Each audition lasts about 20 minutes.  You will be informed within a week if you are a contestant. We have weekly rehearsals where our committee will help you with talent, interview, wardrobe etc.  Our pageant is Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Whatcom Community College.

Thank you for your interest.  Please feel free to call or email me with any questions.

what is MWCSP?

It is a scholarship program that is centered by a competition for young women to earn scholarship dollars for higher education.  The young women showcase their talents, leadership skills and involvement in community service.  Each participant chooses a philanthropy project as their "Platform Issue" to promote and develop if chosen as Miss Whatcom County.

The Miss Whatcom county Scholarship program provides in-depth training and experience in developing leadership and interview skills.  She will also receive extensive training in developing her choice of talent, along with personal grooming, poise and wardrobe consultation.  It provides opportunities for young women to acquire skills to better equip them for future opportunities.
